As stated in the American Chiropractic Association (ACA) week in review dated April 2, 2009,  the "Federal Red Flag Rules apply to Doctors of Chiropractic".  As a MSCA membership benefit, your Association Board of Directors approved Cutting Edge Risk Management, LLC (CERM) as an authorized partner to assist you in implementing reasonable steps to start the compliance process under these guidelines which includes Red Flag Rules training.

 Our office staff and consultants are here to assist you in implementing the necessary reasonable steps outlined by the FACTA RED FLAG RULES and other Identity Theft legislation. Identity Theft is a managed risk and poses a real liability to the chiropractic industry. The FACTA RED FLAG RULES has been in effect since January 1, 2008, with enforcement of the rule extended to June 1, 2009.

As part of your MSCA membership an agreement has been reached with CERM to provide a turnkey program, at no cost to you, that includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Necessary documentation templates
  • Identity theft training/ Red Flag Rules Education
  • Identity Theft Mitigation Program offered on a voluntary basis (See Note A)
  • Vendor Management Program

A group rate for a mitigation plan which can help you meet some of the Red Flag Rules requirements will be made available to you and your staff on a voluntary basis.  Please note that if you or your office staff chooses to take advantage of this program, the MSCA will receive a 9% commission from the purchase.     

Look for a CERM representative to be a presenter at your local district meetings. CERM will also be attending the MSCA Summer Convention.

Note A - Mitigation Plan

The Mitigation Plan offers Identity Theft Restoration and legal assistance, thus eliminating most of the potential liabilities employers face when an Identity Theft situation occurs.
